For Today: 04/13/10

If you're Party Hopping, WELCOME!  Stay a while and see what's going on!  My UBP Post is here.

FOR TODAY
Outside my window...still dark.  I try to do my blogging before I go to bed; the next morning I get up, revise, and catch up on a few blogs to start my day.  Mostly Catholic blogs in the morning to get my day started off right.
I am thinking...I'm really glad yesterday's 3 1/2 hour meeting is over, and that the OT asked if she & I were required to attend the next meeting.  Also, that the special education director stood up for us and told the mother that we were missing seeing our students because of the meetings!
I am thankful for...the blooming dogwoods, red buds, and flowers
From the kitchen...nothing tonight!  I'm going out with the girls from one of my schools!
I am wearing...pajamas...getting ready to start the day!
I am creating...are you kidding?  I'm not creating anything right now!  Not a sewer, knitter, handy person, artist, but I do enjoy seeing what creative people out there are doing!
I am going...to go to work, see my students, laugh with them, and have a great day!
I am reading..."Two Minute Rule" by Robert Crais.  Yes, I know...I was reading this last week.  I'm usually a quick reader, but  I've had blogs to read!
I am hoping...that I can eventually have enough time to finish that book!
I am hearing...The birds singing their "good morning" songs, early morning traffic, and some airplanes taking travelers to their destinations.
Around the house...things are quiet.  It's way to early to be up blogging!
One of my favorite things...Springtime weather!
A few plans for the rest of the week:  Dinner with coworkers tonight followed by soccer, more soccer, and relaxing!
Here is picture for thought I am sharing...I shared this picture on my post yesterday.  Obviously I'm not one to think ahead!  The dogwoods are in full bloom, and I really liked the way this picture turned out:
THE LEGEND OF THE DOGWOOD TREE
At the time of Crucifixion the dogwood had been the size of the oak and other forest trees. So firm and strong was the tree that it was chosen as the timber for the cross. To be used thus for such a cruel purpose greatly distressed the tree, and Jesus nailed upon it, sensed this.
In His gentle pity for all sorrow and suffering Jesus said to the tree:
" Because of your regret and pity for My suffering, never again shall the dogwood tree grow large enough to be used as a cross. Henceforth it shall be slender and bent and twisted and its blossoms shall be in the form of a cross--two long and two short petals. And in the center of the outer edge of each petal there will be nail prints, brown with rust and stained with red, and in the center of the flower will be a crown of thorns, and all who see it will remember."

Have a Terrific Tuesday!

  1. I don't think we have dogwoods around here! Beautiful! And I love the story of the dogwood, too! Enjoy your day, your kiddos, your colleagues, and soccer!

  2. Thanks for the picture of the dogwoods and the story, very nice. I am a teacher too and I think that meetings are WAY overrated!! One reason why I could never be an administrator, trading ALL my time with kids for meetings?? No thanks!!

Have a great day! (and I mean that)

  3. Mrs. E: NO DOGWOODS! I thought they were everywhere! I hate that you're missing out on that beauty!

Amy: I was in an administrative position for a few years...no way would I do it again! I like being a "peon"!
