Wednesday Hodgepodge

If you're looking for this month's edition of  2011 Recipe Challenge, go here.

1. Your favorite chocolate treat?
Can you hear how loud I'm laughing answering this one?  I'm not too picky with my chocolate...I'll take just about anything.

2. What more than anything else makes you feel loved?
Just being around my boys & CH when we're all having a good time and actually getting along!

3. Cherries or blueberries?
Definitely cherries.  I don't know if it's the texture or what, but I just don't like blueberries.

4. What is the one trait you most want the leader of your country to posess?
Honesty.  Oh, wait.  We're talking about politicians here.

5. Are you a saver or a spender?
I really, really wish I were a saver.  I'm sure CH wishes I were a saver, too.
6. If you gave a party for all of your friends would they already know each other?
Well, since I have sisters and  no friends, I would say, "yes".
7. Are you interested in antiques?
Not really.  I do think it's neat to look at old things, but the antique stores I've been in have just had a lot of junk.  Maybe I haven't been to the right ones?

8. Insert your own random thought here.
Don't you just love when you go some place and the employees remember you?  I don't go to Starbucks that often, but the manager at the one I go to remembers me.  I went in yesterday morning, and she asked me if I was ready for my gingerbread latte.  I went in a couple of Sundays ago, and she asked me  if I had been in a few days before to get a gingerbread.  I told her that I had, and she said that she remembered how my eyes lit up when I was told that they still had gingerbread lattes.  I just hate that they didn't have the dark cherry lattes this year...they were incredible!

Go visit Joyce and link up, or at least check out how everybody else answered the questions!

  1. Ha-#4...I don't think some of them mean to be dishonest. They are just so easily seduced by power that they forget why they went to Washington in the first place.

I've never had a gingerbread latte. I am normally not a fan of the flavored stuff but I know Daughter2 loves these. Have a great day!

  3. I do love when employees remember me, it makes me feel special, and who doesn't love that?

I, too, am sadly a spender. Wait! It's good for the economy right? Well, everyone's economy but mine. ;)

I agree 100% about antique stores, I'm like that with thrift and resale shops too. For some reason, when I'm there, all they have is junk, not the wonderful things other people find.

  4. Yes to #8! Good customer service is really hard to find anymore. It's nice when you frequent a place and the employees remember you--and even call you by name.

  5. I like blueberry flavored things and blueberry pie more than cherries, but if we're eating the raw fruit, I much prefer cherries over blueberries. I know, I'm weird.

  6. I love the gingerbread lattes and look forward to them each season. I also love the Carmel brulle lattes. AND their scones.

  7. I agree, chocolate is chocolate, I'll take it...whatever the recipe. What is it about blueberries, I don't mind them in muffins or as a flavoring, but you are right...it's the icky texture that I can't stand! I like your blog design!!

  8. I much prefer cherries over blueberries, especially chocolate covered cherries! Blueberries are "gritty." Never had a latte (I assume they are coffee and I don't like coffee). But that dark cherry one sounds interesting!

  10. Honestly, I haven't had any girlfriends that I just hang out with since I was in my early thirties. I spend most of my time with my family. Work friends are work friends, we don't go out on the weekends. School friends live hundreds of miles away and I spend time with church friends at church gatherings! Ok more than you wanted to know; I'm gonna go get some chocolate!

  12. So when asked what your favorite chocolate would be the answer is just...yes!!

Dark cherry lattes...I don't remember those, but they sound good. Gingerbread can't be hanging around too much longer...enjoy them while you can!!

  13. dark cherry lattes sound good; how did I miss that? And now they could be gone forever? The gingerbread ones sound interesting, might have to try one down the road.

I like your answer to #1; I'm the same way unless it is white chocolate and then why bother?

  17. Your last comment...that is so true. I never really think about it until we go to the Korean donut store up the street. Of course, they only remember us because of Stan the man! We even get a handful of free donuts:) (I always leave a tip).

  18. I agree with your random thought.
The employees at our local Publix knows hubby by name and if they don't see him with me they ask about him. They really are very friendly.

  19. I do love when employees remember me. They remember me at the local toy store. Then again I did beautiful engraving on my daughter's toy for free!

  22. I agree with you on the blueberry/cherry thing. Blueberries don't really have a nice texture when you eat them on their own but they are nice in muffins and things. But cherries...now CHERRIES... om nom nom!!

I'm not much into chocolate or flavored coffees. I know....what planet did I come from, hm? :-)
