Signs

As I was walking the past few mornings, I realized that there are signs all around us.

 Signs of past races:
Signs of past storms:
Signs that there may be wildlife where we least expect it:
(And, no, I didn't stick my head in there to check...especially after reading this post from Southlakes Mom!)
Signs of  remembrance:
(This plaque is in memory of the high school art teacher)
Signs that although there are some people who don't care:
There are still some that do:

Signs that it's too hot for picnics:
 Signs that we need rain:
Signs that we still need prayer:
(This is a prayer request box that is in the park.  It is located across the street from the Methodist Church.  Surprisingly, there are pieces of paper and pencils that appear to be undisturbed.)

And, once I got back in my yard, signs that I still can't keep things alive:
But, there may be a tad bit of hope for me yet:
(These are 2 plants that I bought last summer...they're barely hanging on!)

What kind of signs do you see as you're going on your daily walk, or going through your daily activities?
Here's a sign that I saw in Moes' bathroom the other day.  What a great reminder!

  2. What a wonderful meander through small town. And I love the prayer box! Wow - what a cool idea if your church is across from a park!

Thanks for the shout-out. Hee hee.

And what's not to like in Moe's sign? Is that a local restaurant?

Do you remember the song, Signs, by 5 man Electrical Band? My favorite verse is the last. (next post)

  3. And the sign said, "Everybody welcome. Come in, kneel down and pray"
But when they passed around the plate at the end of it all, I didn't have a
    penny to pay
So I got me a pen and a paper and I made up my own little sign
I said, "Thank you, Lord, for thinkin' 'bout me. I'm alive and doin' fine."

That song was popular when I was 10 years old and really struck a cord with me. I look back at it as one of the "God moments" where He was telling me who He was.

  4. This is a great post!!

I love the arrows on the trail. I like being on the trail and seeing that Team In Training or other training groups have been there. Sometimes there are so many other encouraging messages rather than just the arrows.

  7. Well, I hadn't the time for a walk lately but the signs I see in and around my life are the heights of my children. They are growing and time is passing too quickly. I wish I could slow time a bit more :) Mary, this is such a thoughtful post!

  8. Moes'...your making me hungry. We had one a few years ago and then it was gone. I can't imagine why, I thought they were awesome. Some people will never learn about saving our earth! Love the prayer box.
