Weekend Wrap-up

Friday, YS accompanied me to the oral surgeon, where I had Phase I of my implant done.  In & out in about an hour.  I spent the rest of the day in my happy place...I even fixed dinner for YS & CH.  I did get a little nauseous, so I went to bed early.  Saturday I did some laundry and watched some football.  The Vols lost, but they gave Ga. a run for their money.  I managed to finish the book "Wicked"...finally!  Very good read...it made me look at "The Wizard of Oz" in a whole new light!
Sunday morning, I snapped a picture of this before I got out of bed:
She wasn't too happy that her daddy went riding on his motorcycle, and his mama was still in bed.  I usually am up and about before CH gets out of bed because the dogs usually wake me up to go outside.
CH bought Laika a new toy Saturday, and, not even 24 hours later, this is what was left of it:
A little later that day, I went to Big Lots to look for a cheap, but decent looking, wall decoration for my classroom at my new school.  Then, I went to the grocery store to get a few things.  Within an hour, I had 2 ladies stop and ask me where I got my shirt.  This shirt is about 3 years old, so I don't even think you can one of them anymore.  Here's the shirt:
It dawned on me that October must be Breast Cancer Awareness Month, especially when I saw these in the grocery store:
I know they're to being sold to benefit breast cancer, but there's just something not right about pink pumpkins.
This is a horrible picture, but here's what my drive to my mountain school looked like on Thursday:
Most days, the area will be clear except for this area that I have to go through to get to the school.  Very "Jurassic Park" like!

Have a Marvelous Monday!

  1. Sounds like a very restful weekend! Besides laundry and a trip to the commissary, we pretty much just stayed home and enjoyed each other's company. Far cry from a stay at a manor house in England, but I think it was even better!!!

  2. I didn't know that Wicked was a book, too.

I'm with you ... pumpkins just shouldn't be pink. ;-)

  3. I didn't know Wicked was a book--I'll have to check it out. I saw the play some years ago but we were up so high in the balcony that I missed much of the dialogue (I wear two hearing aides) and really missed the point of the whole play!

  4. I didn't know Wicked was a book either. I so want to see the play some day. Love that last picture, but the pink pumpkins not so much.

  5. I haven't read the book but enjoyed the play Wicked! Skye does that to every new toy. I buy her flat unstuffed toys now but she still gets those squeakers out!

  6. Glad you did well with the 1st part of the implant procedure - that's supposed to be the most difficult part, isn't it?

Loved the photo of your dog! LOL!!

  7. I liked the book but loved the musical. The Broadway show is not nearly as dark as the book but it is fabulous! I love your view-once upon a time I had a similar drive-to-work view : )
