A Truly Hodgepodge

Joyce is back this week after a natural disaster!  I don't know about you, but I missed her last week!  Here are the questions for this week:

1.  What rule of life should never be broken?
I have to admit:  I googled this to see if I could get a clue as to how to answer this.  Apparently we all have rules of life, we just don't know it.
Don't meddle and mind your own business.

2.  What's your favorite family recipe?
Kolaches.  I tried to make them once, but didn't have the right recipe.  It tasted NOTHING like my Aunt Frances'!  Such great memories with that smell!

3.  Is the media manipulative?
Absolutely.  And one-sided.

4. Hubs and I saw Skyfall last weekend...are you a fan of the Bond films? If so, who's your favorite Bond?
You know, I've never seen an entire Bond movie.  They've never held my attention, but I haven't ever attempted one on the big screen.

5. What is one thing you hope people never say about you?
"You never know if she's going to talk to you."  One of my pet peeves is having people act like they're your best friend one minute, then the next act like they've never met you before.  I have no use for people like that.

6.  What's a nearby tourist attraction you'd like to see, but haven't gotten around to visiting?
There are a lot of attractions around here, and I've seen most of them.  I may not remember them because I went when I was little, but I've been there.  There's a farm nearby that makes/sells cheese.  I would like to go there.  There's also a winery near there, too.

7.  Where's your favorite tree?
I've looked at this question and tried to go 3 different ways answering it.  I don't have a favorite tree.

8.  Insert your own random thought here.
CH took this picture yesterday outside of the office building where he works:
The colors have just been spectacular this year.  It's amazed me how long the colors have stuck around.

  1. I can see why you added your random thought...the colors ARE spectacular indeed. As for Kolaches...yum. Our Bohemian family friend used to make them all the time. My favorite was pineapple filled.

  2. I enjoyed your answers and those colors in the picture are beautiful. They've been pretty around here too, however they are pretty much gone now.

    Have a great day.

  3. Bond films don't hold my attention either.

Your fall colors are beautiful, I'm jealous :)

  4. The colors in the photo are amazing. I thought that with the drought and heat here, we'd not get pretty fall colors, but thankfully we did. Most of the colorful leaves have fallen, although occasionally we'll see a beautiful tree ... which is even more spectacular because there's no competition. ;-)

  7. Your answer for number five got my head spinning. Hoping people never think such of me. Wit my social anxiety I have a habit of clamming up when around many others I don't know even with those I know.(been working and getting better on it though) Luckily my true friends realize this but I would hope none worried if I would or wouldn't speak with them.

    Gorgeous colors this year!

  10. Some of the trees still have their beautiful color here too-even after a little snowfall a few weeks ago. Totally agree with your answer to #5.

  12. I love seeing beautiful fall colors! We just don't get that many in Florida.

  13. I love your answer to #5 and I agree with you completely! We don't get too much color around here but we have the cooler temps and I'll take it! LOL I do miss the colors of autumn. We lost trees to Hugo in our whole area in 1989 that just never came back. So, I just enjoy pictures like the one you posted. :)

  14. Still so pretty at my moms, just 2 hours south of us, but fading in our part of the state. I hate to see fall end...it has been especially beautiful this year.

  17. Thanks for stopping by and visiting me! Those fall colors are incredible! Living in South Florida means we don't get to enjoy the leaves changing in the fall. It's the one thing I miss.

Have a blessed rest of your week.

  18. I don't like when someone talks to me one minute and then acts like they don't know me the next. I never understood that one.

  19. Over the years, I've had several coworkers and friends who are so fickle about when they want to be my "friend". Usually when it was convenient for them. It's very annoying, to put it nicely.

  20. What is a kaloche. I don't believe I have ever had one. Loved the tree shot...such beautiful colors and there is nothing like the colors with the sun shining on them. Gorgeous.

  21. Oh my goodness, that is the most uncomfortable feeling. I don't think we should ever, ever have to guess who are friends are. I enjoyed your answers and hope you have a good week!

  22. Had to Google Kolaches to see what they were. They look great!
The Fall colors have been so beautiful this year here too, much prettier than last year. After the hot summer that we had I was afraid that the leaves would not stick around or show much color, but they sure have.
We also have a farm nearby that makes and sells cheeses. My husband and I visited a few years ago, it was interesting.
    Happy Thanksgiving!

  23. I know we have discussed this before, I have tried to make Kolaches too and they just don't come close to what my grandmother's made. I think it just might be time for you to see Bond on the big screen. Beautiful color on the tree. Hope your weekend is a great one.
