Drawing a Lot of Blanks Wednesday Hodgepodge

1. American Idol is back for a 14th season. Are you watching? Have you ever watched? If you were to audition for the show (or were made to audition), what song would you sing?
When the show first started, I watched it faithfully. Now...not so much. I do like the judges this season, though. I have no idea what song I would sing.

2.  Mark Twain is quoted as saying, "If it's your job to eat a frog, it's best to do it first thing in the morning. And if it's your job to eat two frogs, it's best to eat the biggest one first."

So when did you last have to 'eat a frog'? Or two? How'd that work out?
I'm just not getting that quote. In fact, I even googled it for some help and still have no idea. Unless it means to do your toughest things first to get them out of the way.
This past weekend, I wanted to catch up on some shows & do some laminating for school, but I really needed to clean the house. So, I made sue I cleaned before I did anything else.

3. If you were going on safari, what is the number one animal you'd want to see?
Giraffe. I just love how big, yet graceful they are.

4. January 21st is National Granola Bar Day. I know. Do you like granola bars? Chewy or crunchy? Your favorite flavor? How about regular granola? Let's exhaust this topic in honor of the holiday okay?
Give me a chewy granola bar anyday. Better yet, one of these:

Probably not the most healthy bars, but they are really good!
5. If only__________________________________________.
I could think of something profound to fill in this blank, I wouldn't look like such an idiot!

6. You can add one item to your bedroom. What will it be? Keep it family friendly please.

More room.  Or, maybe a bigger closet. I've said this before: One thing I miss about my house in SC is the master closet. Our current house was built in the 60's...need I say more?

7. What is one thing you've enjoyed about winter thus far? If it's not winter in your corner of the globe, what season is it, and what is something you've enjoyed about whatever season it happens to be?
Gosh, it seems like it just started! No snow days yet, so nothing to get excited about.

8.  Insert your own random thought here.
I've got nothing for the random this week. Absolutely nothing.

  1. I think it feels like a quieter week here too. Still trying to catch up, but finally feeling like I see light at the end of the very dusty tunnel. I've heard we may have a storm this weekend. We haven't had any real snow since Thanksgiving.

  2. A bigger closet would be nice, for sure! Some of these were a little harder to answer this week, weren't they? Still fun though.

  3. We have only missed two days in our county and that was not related to snow. My questions? Where is the SNOW? Chewy granola for me.

  4. Our house was built in 2007 and none of the rooms or closets are quite big enough. But then I remind myself that we chose to downsize when we moved here ... and frankly, 1500 sf for 2 people ought to be plenty, right?

  5. Yes for bigger bedrooms in older houses! Found out last week that our house is 95 years old, things definitely were a lot more compact back then!

  6. You are right about #2. Get the worst thing done first. I think we could all use a bigger closet. But...the bigger the closet, the more junk I would accumulate! Great Hodgepodge!!

  7. Interesting no snow days so far this year! It does seem like a milder winter compared to last year's. Giraffes were my mom's favorite animals :)

  8. Giraffe was my choice, too! Thankfully, I have a big closet here and I love it. In fact, I might never move because of it!

  9. I love these judges and I'm glad they don't show too many crazy people auditions anymore. Giraffe's are my favorite too. Enjoy the rest of you week.

  10. Haha. I thought the same thing about #5. Just not feeling profound. Lol

  11. Lots of giraffe fans!!
I liked idol better in the earlier years, it just gives me a headache now, well tinnitus (ear ringing). I liked watching when Paula Abdul was on the judge panel and she and Simon would fight like cats & dogs.

  12. A bigger closet was my answer, too.I guess people had smaller closets in the 60's because they didn't have as much stuff as we do these days?!

  13. I am with you on the quote. I had to google it to see what it meant.

  14. I keep hoping for snow days. Well, they would most likely be ice days but, heck! I'll take 'em anyway I can get 'em. LOL We have great closets in this house. It's the house itself that's small. :)

  15. That was a tough quote but you had it figured out. :o)) Oh, we have had no snow here and hopefully we do not. We Louisianana's don't do well with snow. :o))

  16. As far as the Safari question, I never dreamed of it, but I was on a safari in Africa in May. The elephants and the lion were the most magical things I have ever seen in my life. The giraffes were great, too. But the elephants! And 2 lions! Wow. The Mark Twain quote is a strange one. However, I have eaten frog legs a few times in my life. When fried, they really do taste like chicken.

  17. I don't know American Idol, as I live in Belgium. It had snowed a bit yesterday, but today it's all gone, I hate winter !
