Collecting the Hodgepodge

1. Pokemon Go...your thoughts? Are you playing? Do you even know what it is?
YS educated us to Pokemon Go on vacation. I had to laugh: as we were walking down the street, this woman walked out of a store and said that she had to go one way to catch a Pokemon. We refer to it as "virtual geocaching", but apparently it's getting out of hand. I read that some questionable places (like Auschwitz & cemeteries) are listed.

2. What was something you collected as a child? Do you still have that collection? If you're a parent what's something your own children collected? Have you ever camped out, stood in a crazy long queue, or paid a ridiculous sum for a 'collectible'?
I collected nothing; my boys collected nothing. We're sentimental that way!

3. "Collect moments, not things"...tell us about a moment you've added to your collection this summer.
I'll let this say it for me:

4.  What's something collecting dust in your home right now? Any plans to do something about it?

Everything. I hate dusting.

5. A favorite song relating to time?
This song immediately came to mind:

6. What's been your most frightening or your most interesting encounter with wildlife?
While we were on vacation, there were a couple of bucks that were in the campground. One of them squatted to poop. Like a dog...with antlers. I've never seen such a thing, and had no idea that they ever did that.

7.  On July 20, 1969 Apollo 11 Commander Neil Armstrong set his foot down on the moon. If you could travel to the moon would you go? Why or why not?
No. I prefer my feet to be planted on earth.

8. Insert your own random thought here.

We just got back from a 2 week camping vacation in South Dakota & Colorado. Look for a recap soon!

  1. Your pics on FB look amazing! I couldn't play the song because it said the content was blocked. I do love some Darius though! Arlington National Cemetery put out a statement regarding Pokemon Go...kind of sad they have to tell people it's not the place for something like that but we are definitely a nation that is all about us these days. Hope you're enjoying the tail end of your summer break.

  7. Can't wait to see the vacation pix! Funny but, even though Hootie (Darius) is from our area, I have never really listened to them. And I have no idea why.

  8. Oh my! The image in my mind of the buck using the bathroom...too funny! Too bad you didn't get a picture of it!!! Ha!

  9. I thought the idea of a buck being like a dog with antlers and pooping was funny!

I think it is awful the thought of folks playing games in the cemeteries and memorials. It just seems very disrespectful of the dead to me. I wouldn't be at all surprised if one of the residents of those places made a surprise visit instead of the Pokemon goomers. That might cure any disrespectful players of the urge to do this in cemeteries.

    Have a blessed day!

  10. That is one beautiful moment you collected! Great song choice. I didn't know they pooped that way either. Two great states to camp in....looking forward to your photos.

  11. Interesting encounter with wildlife. We used to see them all the time in our cornfield back in South Carolina.

  12. I hadn't heard they were hunting Pokemon in such disrespectful places. That is a bit too much. It's bad enough they are walking out into traffic and such without paying attention.

Great song! Love Hootie & the Blowfish.
