It's a Par-Tay!

Ultimate Blog Party 2011

Here's a great way to check out new blogs and have new people visit yours!  Welcome to the party!

I'm a mom to 3 boys  young men between the ages of 16 & 22, and a wife to my husband, CH (Chubby Hubby...his term).  We moved back to my hometown after living in 2 other southern states for 20 years.  Did I mention I also work full-time for a local school system?  I've been a speech pathologist for 26 years, and have no intentions of slowing down...at least for a few more years!

Life in a small town at the foothills of the Smoky Mountains gets crazy sometimes, but it's slowing down now that I only have 1 son still at home.  I write about trying to find where I fit into this small town, my boys' shenanigans, as well as my Catholic Faith.

Get comfortable, and look around.  Questions?  Just ask.  Comments?  Leave them below!

  1. Hello! Something made me "click" on your blog and I see that you are a SLP.

Funny, but I have 2 kiddos with Apraxia!

    Yeah, really!

    Yeah, it sucks!

But we are making the most of it.
It's hard work, and I plan on having a lazy SLP for breakfast on Tuesday.

    Really!

Of all the SLPs I have met, we have been 99.8% impressed.
    This chick as gotta go!

If you have any advice for me, please chime in.
I would totally appreciate the help.
I'm looking for an advocate now in the school system...I thing we may be getting over our heads.

Nice to meet you. I am a pleasant person.
    Really!
I just don't like lazy people who COPY/PASTE into my child's IEP!

    Talk soon,
    Pattie

  10. Found your blog through UBP'11. Small towns are the best. I live in a small town also and I am a bit jealous of you because you live in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains. Love them!

  13. Hi stopping by from UBP. We moved from a small town to a medium sized one and my hometown. I know what you mean about trying to find your place in a small town. It took me 4 years to find mine only to have life up and move us.

Thank you for doing what you do, I have a son with Autism and without therapist I'm not sure what I would do.
